Angelica Paiewonsky is a self-taught artist raised in Oslo, Norway. After spending quite a few of her formative years in the wintry but beautiful lands to the North, she ventured west to California to gain new perspectives and nurture her trade. She has been featured in several exhibitions in Northern California and is currently presenting artwork in her second solo show in Berkeley.
Much of Angelica’s work revolves around central themes of nature and people. With an emphasis in illustration and painting using both traditional and digital platforms, her mixed media works portray an intimate expression of her subjects. Her passion is to create visually intriguing art pieces that capture moments of stoicism and playfulness. Her portraits are meant to evoke a sense of whimsicality and sincerity, obscuring the dichotomy between the imaginative and realistic.
Angelica currently calls Berkeley home and is enjoying life being a freelance artist.
